Dairy-Free Baked Feta Pasta

Mighty Tip

Adding a lean protein to a recipe, such as this baked feta pasta, can keep you full and satisfied for longer!

The viral baked feta pasta trend on Tik Tok looked too delicious and too simple to be true, BUT it isn’t! Highly recommend jumping on the bandwagon for this one. The ingredients include feta, tomatoes, basil, and pasta — what is not to love here?!

If you are lactose-intolerant like myself, or do not eat dairy for any other reason, I created a version that uses dairy-free cheese and works just as well! The “cheese” melts fully in the oven, which actually made it easier to coat the pasta at the end. This recipe also uses chicken to make sure to get that protein in! You can easily omit the chicken, or use a chicken substitute, to create a vegan baked feta pasta. Whatever you choose — I hope you enjoy!!

If you would like to see this recipe being made, I uploaded a video tutorial on Tik Tok and Instagram Reels!

Ingredients

  • Dairy-free feta cheese block (I used the brand Violife, it’s also vegan!)

  • 10 oz. Cherry tomatoes (you can also use grape tomatoes)

  • 4+ tbsp. Olive oil

  • 1 tbsp. Garlic

  • 1 lb. Farfalle (Bow Tie) Pasta

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Red pepper flakes to taste

  • 1 lb. Chicken cutlets (optional, omit for vegan) seasoned with Italian seasoning

  • Fresh basil, cut into strips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. In a large, oven-safe dish (I used a 9x13 inch glass dish) mix together 2-3 tbsp. olive oil, tomatoes, salt, and garlic.

  3. Place your block of feta “cheese” in the center. Top with the remaining olive oil, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  4. Bake at 400 for 35 minutes. You will know it is done baking when the tomatoes have burst!

  5. While the cheese and tomatoes are cooking, cook your pasta and chicken. After the chicken is cooked, cut it into strips. Drain the cooked pasta and set aside.

  6. Once the feta and tomatoes are done cooking, remove the dish from the oven. Add in the chicken and pasta and stir together until everything is coated with the feta.

  7. Stir in the fresh basil. Enjoy!
